Valentino opened a flagship store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills this week. Some of the celebrities attending the opening included Molly Sims, Minka Kelly, Rose McGowan, Ellie Kemper, Jessica Stroup, Jessica Szohr and Ciara. Nicky Hilton hosted the opening. Take a look:

Toshiba announced today, April 1st, a new line of different shaped tablets, called Shapes by Toshiba. The shapes include Oblong, Rhombus and Amore (a heart shaped tablet). Take a look:
Amazon.com is running an Easter video game sale, with discounts on over 170 games. The sale includes the Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster game for the Xbox 360 Kinect. You can find all the games on sale here. The sale ends on Saturday, April 7.
Sony picked today, April 1st, to launch the world's smallest Ultrabook. The tiny quarter-sized computer fits in your pocket and the palm of your hand. The Sony VAIO Q has 8GB of RAM and full HD 1080p resolution. Take a look:
There were three winners in the record $640 million Mega Millions jackpot. So far none of them have stepped forward to claim their third ($213 million) of the prize. Convenience stores in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland sold the winning tickets. Some people were taking photographs of the winning machines. Take a look:
ThinkGeek launched the Technomancer Digital Wizard Hoodie as one of its April Fool's products. The digitally enhanced hoodie can cast ten different spells with lights and sounds. The hoodie has accelerometers in the sleeves to sense hand movements. When you move your hands in the right sequence a spell is cast, which is supported by lights and sound effects. Some of the spells include fireball, healing, energy beam, water and lightning bolt. Take a look:
Tom Felton visited the Harry Potter Studio Tour, which recently opened at Warner Bros. Studios in London. The exhibit includes sets and props used in the movies. You can find the official website for the UK version of the tour here.
Felton said seeing the set again brought back a lot of memories. Felton says, "It strangely hit me like a ton of bricks. As soon as I walked into the Great Hall memories came flooding back."
The Hunger Games easily won the box office again this weekend. It made $61 million to push its total box office over the $250 million mark. This was the seventh top grossing second weekend of all time. The Hunger Games is already 65th on the all time domestic grosses chart.
The Hunger Games was followed by two new opening films: Wrath of the Titans and Mirror Mirror. Wrath of the Titans, starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Rosamund Pike, made $34 million. This was a big number, but less than the opening for Clash of the Titans. Mirror Mirror, starring Lily Collins as Snow White, made $19 million and came in third. The film did well with families with young girls and could be a draw over the Easter holiday.
21 Jump Street finished fourth. It continues to do well and added another $15 million to bring its total box office gross to $93 million. 21 Jump Street was followed by The Lorax, John Carter and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. You can see the complete box office weekend report here.

Maylasia has instituted some really interesting green projects. Engineers turned a giant trash dump that covered the size of 26 football
fields into a renewable
energy park.
First the engineers sealed off the
landfill, adding a layer of soil and
grass. Then they covered the area
with 32,000 solar panels.
the energy is then sold to
energy suppliers who add it to
the grid. Biogases given off by
the trash are captured and used much in the same way natural gas is used to heat homes. The gas is composed of methane and
carbon dioxide. The methane is collected and used to generate electricity. At most landfills, the gas is burned off. Using landfill gas for power is extremely energy efficient.

which has a population of 30 million.

set specific energy goals: it wants
at least 5% of the nation's power
to come from renewable sources

Improv Eveywhere sent eight sets of identical quadruplets into the park in New York City to create a surreal experience for anyone who happened to be walking by. The quadruplets sat on benches and went walking in the park. There was also a group of dancing quadruplets. Take a look:
Here is the official trailer for Total Recall starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale, Bryan Cranston, John Cho and Bill Nighy. Directed by Len Wiseman, the film is a remake of the original film which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone. The films are based on the classic Phillip K. Dick short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale." The film hits theaters August 3, 2012. It looks fantastic. Take a look:
ThinkGeek has launched the Star Wars Admiral Ackbar Singing Bass, a spoof of the Big Mouth Bill Bass animatronic singing wall mount. This is another one of ThinkGeek's April Fool's products. The wall decor plays the Cantina Song for Star Wars and says, "It's a trap." The video shows Darth Vader enjoying the dancing bass. Take a look:
Another one of ThinkGeek's funny April Fool's products this year is the Hungry Hungry Hippos for iPad game. Four hippo toys are used to interact with the virtual game board, which is an iPad app. ThinkGeek jokes that the game is endorsed by the IHHHA (International Hungry Hungry Hippos Association). Take a look:
These actually seems like the type of product that would eventually be made. ThinkGeek does let people vote for the products they want to become real and they have turned some April Fool's product into real products.
Nicki Minaj wore an unusual colorful dress to the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards. She is pictured backstage at the awards show in the above photo. The pink, green, purple, yellow and blue dress contained little transparent bubble pockets filled with ticket stubs, photographs and candy. Nicki was also wearing a bunny bracelet. Her shoes were made from little pink and blue teddy bears.

YouTube has launched the YouTube Collection. The DVD collection offers a way to get all the YouTube videos in one collection. The YouTube collection is organized into nested modules, such as cat videos, dubstep remixes and how to open chocolate milk. A fleet of 175 YouTube trucks will deliver the massive collection to you. A new truckload containing DVDs of newly uploaded videos will arrive each week. Take a looK:
ThinkGeek has a funny spoof of Marshmallow Peeps and the Minecraft building game called Minecraft Marshmallow Creeps for April's Fools Day. ThinKGeek says they are an officially licensed Minecraft collectible edible. There are lots of comments from people who really want these Minecraft Marshmallow Creeps to be real.

Justin Bieber was slimed at the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards. Slime was fired at him from all directions while he was on stage. This was Katy Perry's wish before the show. Will Smith was slimed in the process of getting Bieber slimed as were many people in the audience. Take a look:

First Lady Michelle Obama presented Taylor Swift with the The Big Help Award at the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards. The award is given to a celebrity who has devoted a great deal of their time and energy to charity. In her presentation speech, Michelle Obama said, "She's support childrens' charities, she's worked to combat bullying and given away books to schools and libraries all around the country. She's given so much of her own money to victims of natural disasters here and around the world."
Taylor said, "I'm so honored to be receiving this award for the First Lady of the United States. I am freaking out." Take a look:

Taylor Lautner was super slimed after Will Smith tricked him into doing some pushups on the orange carpet at the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards. Taylor was completely covered in slime. Will Smith said, "You earned it. You earned it."
